Welcome to today's foyer, which is surrounded by two impressive battlements. These were created in 1850 by Baron Robert Lucas Pearsall when he renovated the parapet and still adorn the north side of the old residence tower. A perfect place for a stand-up aperitif, surrounded by the history and charm of yesteryear.

As late as the 15th/16th century, this part of the house was used as a horse stable and was open to the public.
In the late 18th century, it was converted into living quarters and, with the takeover of the Protestant house around 1955, it became a meeting place with seating.
